After School Coalition:
- The overall goal of After School Coalition is to provide activities for adolescents after school lets out that are safe and keep them from making poor decisions. We want to get the entire community involved in making Mundelein the best it can possibly be! A bigger goal is to prevent underage drinking in Mundelein. By giving students alternatives, we hope to stop this epidemic. We promote a drug and alcohol free environment, an eco-friendly community, and help the community through charitable events and deeds. We also help ease the transition from middle school to high school as that can be a very scary and stressful time. We want to make Mundelein a better, safer, and cleaner community.
- This year we have created MASC Club By Laws to help keep us organized and on the right track.
Seniors Molly Ellett, Courtney Perreault, and Angie Lopez received scholarships from the Mundelein After School Coalition.
MASC is composed of schools, the Mundelein Police Department, the Mundelein Park District, and Mundelein agencies that work to prevent underage drinking and bullying. MASC's activities include, but are not limited to, middle school dances, Adopt-A-Highway, Turkey Drives, Canned Food Drive, and A-May-Zing Mundelein. Through their service and commitment, these seniors were chosen to receive the MASC scholarship. Molly will attend University of Minnesota, Courtney will attend Iowa State, and Angie will attend Lewis University.
