Dear Show Choir Community,

The Mundelein Invitational will be held Saturday, March 10, 2012 and will be a great day of music education and competition for your entire music department.  There will be a choral/show choir side of the event and also divisions for your schools jazz bands!  I'd like to cordially invite you and your students to MHS for a positive musical experience and to enjoy other's performances.

The 2012 event will feature a large stage with wings for costume changes and space behind the set for the band as well as a fantastic sound system.  There will be different divisions (Open Mixed Show Choir, Single Gender Show Choir, Festival (beginning) Show Choir, Middle School/Junior High Show Choir and Concert Choir).  There will be finals competition for the Open Mixed Show Choirs and the Single Gender Show Choirs.  We will have a set of risers on stage (standard 4x4).  You may add pieces to the set but in an effort to keep the event running on time, the standard set will remain in place at all times.

Our adjudication panel will be made up strictly of educators with experience creating high school and middle school music ensembles, ensuring the educational value of the comments and the basis for scoring the show choirs with an emphasis on vocals(60%) vs. show production/choreography (40%).

If you have questions about the Mundelein Invitational, please e-mail or call.  For more information on the jazz band portion of the day, please e-mail Matt Farmer at mfarmer@d120.org. Of course, we will work very hard to make your experience at the MHS Show Choir and Jazz Band Invitational a great one!
