MUNDELEIN THEATRE produces three mainstage productions each year - Fall Play, Winter Play and Spring Musical. In addition, we also produce several studio productions, including the Student Directed One-Act Plays,
New Faces Production (a no-cut production for freshman and sophomores, as well as juniors and seniors who have never appeared on the MHS mainstage), and Group Interpretation (IHSA event) in the spring. This year, for the first time, we are competing in Battle of the Bard, a Shakespeare slam sponsored by Chicago Shakespeare Theatre and Chicago Youth Shakespeare. Opportunities exist for students in the area of acting, directing, technical theatre, design and choreography. In addition to our productions, we also sponsor a trip each year to the Illinois High School Theatre Festival.
MUNDELEIN THEATRE is a co-curricular program. We offer a one-term general theatre studies class (Introduction to Theatre), as well as a two-term class in Technical Theatre. Our performance classes consist of Beginning Acting (one term) and Theatre Studio - Advanced Acting (two terms). Click here for a description of the theatre courses.
