2012  RESULTS

The Mustangs had 3 runners advance from regionals to the IHSA Sectional Meet to be held at Busse Woods in Schaumburg Oct. 27th.  Congratulations to junior Liam Mellon, and sophomores Bryce Richards and Chris Palacios.


This past weekend the Mustangs competed in the NSC Championships, held at Fox River Park in Wilmot Wisconsin.  On the Varsity level the boys took 9th behind Bryce Richards 10th place finish.  Also receiving All-Conference honors was Liam Mellon in 28th place.  Tommy Shannon in 45th, Chris Palacios in 56th, Cooper Lohr in 63rd, Edgar Talayko in 75th, and Mickey Cardenas in 84th competed the scoring.

On the JV level the boys took 7th, and were led by Andrew Westgate in 58th place.  Westgate was followed by Uly Hagedorn in 60th, Joseph Clow in 67th, Raphael Rouvinov in 76th, Greg Proper in 83rd, Carlos Montenegro in 91st, and Steve Slaughter in 98th.


On September 29th the Mustangs travelled to Peoria to compete in the Peoria Central Invite.  The Mustangs took 25th out of 52 teams.  Sophomore Bryce Richards led the way in 49th place out of 365 runners.  He was followed by Liam Mellon in 90th, Chris Palacios in 159th, Tommy Shannon in 192nd, and Cooper Lohr in 221st.

On Tuesday, September 18th, the Mustangs lost a pair of dual meets losing to Lake Zurich 17-44, and by the narrowest of margins, 27-28, to Libertyville.  The Mustangs were led by Bryce Richards and Liam Mellon, in 5th and 6th overall.  They were followed by Cooper Lohr in 13th, Mickey Cardenas in 18th, and Chris Palacios in 19th.  Tommy Shannon and Andrew Lovell completed the scoring in 22nd and 27th places.


On September 15th the Mustangs traveled to Gurnee to compete with 20 other teams at the Warren Invite.

The Varsity squad took 8th, with sophomore Bryce Richards and junior Liam Mellon medaling, taking 6th and 16th, respectively.  Also scoring for the Mustangs were Cooper Lohr in 64th, Tommy Shannon in 89th, and Andrew Lovell in 103rd.

The F/S squad took 10th, led by Chris Palacios, who took 7th out of 295 runners.  Also scoring were sophomore Mickey Cardenas, freshmen Uly Hagerdorn and Joseph Clow, and sophomore Raphael Rouvinov.

In the Open Race, junior Greg Proper and senior Andrew Westgate led the way in 31st and 32nd.  Senior Steve Slaughter, Carlos Montenegro and Carlos Juan also had strong efforts.


On September 10th, the Mustangs beat Lake Forest and lost to Warren at Warren H.S.  The Mustangs were led by sophomore Bryce Richards, who was 2nd overall.  Seniors Cooper Lohr and Andrew Lovell had great efforts, taking 7th and 12th, followed by sophomore Chris Palacios and junior Tommy Shannon in 15th and 16th.  Sophomore Mickey Cardenas and junior Edgar Calixto rounded out the top 7, taking 20th and 29th. 

On September 28th the Mustangs competed in the Wauconda Invitational
On the F/S level, the boys took 11th out of 24 teams.  They were led by sophomore Bryce Richards, who was 2nd overall out of 382 runners.  Sophomore Chris Palacios was next in 34th.  Sophomore Mickey Cardenas in 92nd, freshmen Joseph Clow in 113th and Uly Hagerdorn in 131 completed the scoring. 

The Varsity team was led by a strong performance by junior Liam Mellon in 13th.  Also scoring for the Mustangs, who were 14th out of 22 teams, were senior Cooper Lohr in 56th, junior Tom Shannon in 100th, senior Andrew Lovell in 107th, and junior Edgar Talayko in 123rd.

The Boy's Open race was highlighted by Andrew Westgate finishing in 62nd place and junior Tripp Weimer in 114th.

On September 4th the boy's team lost a close dual meet to Vernon Hills, 27-30.  The boys were led by sophomore Bryce Richards and junior Liam Mellon, who took 2nd and 3rd overall.  Senior Cooper Lohr took 6th and sophomore Chris Palacios followed in 7th, with junior Tommy Shannon completing the scoring in 12th.

On August 28th the Cross Country team competed in the Art Cambell Invitational held at Lakewood Forest Preserve.  The Mustangs placed 8th out of 16 teams, and were led by junior Liam Mellon.  Mellon placed 15th overall, and earned All-County honors.  Congratulations Liam!
