2012  RESULTS
ELLIE PALACIOS QUALIFIES FOR STATE

This past Saturday the Mustangs competed in the IHSA Sectional Cross Country Meet in Schaumburg.  The Mustangs took 11th place out of 21 teams.  They were led by senior Elena Palacios, who qualified for the State Meet in Peoria by taking 17th.  This makes the 2nd consecutive year the Mustangs have qualified a runner for State.  Congratulations to Ellie on her great performance, and good luck at State!


This past weekend the Mustangs placed 2nd in the Libertyville Regional and advancing to the IHSA Sectional as a team.  The Mustangs were led by senior Ellie Palacios, who garnered All-Region honors, placing 3rd.  Also running well were seniors Claire Naughton and Steph Johnson, in 12th and 13th, sophomore Kelsey Loar in 15th, junior Emily Schlebecker in 16th, and seniors Hannah Smith and Marisa Perreault who took 23rd and 30th.  Next up for the Mustangs is the Sectional Meet at Busse Woods in Schaumburg this Saturday, October 27th.  Good luck, Mustangs!

This past weekend the Mustangs competed in the NSC Championships, held at Fox River Park in Wilmot, Wisconsin.  The Varsity squad took 4th, and were led by Ellie Palacios in 9th.  Also achieving All-Conference status were Steph Johnson in 16th, Emily Schlebecker in 22nd, and Claire Naughton in 23rd.  Kelsey Loar in 31st, Hannah Smith in 42nd, and Marisa Perreault in 47th completed the scoring.

On the JV level the Mustangs took 6th, with Sophia Presutti leading the way in 9th.  Other JV All-Conference runners were Emily Zagula in 15th, Elise Erickson in 21st, and Lyli Chavez in 22nd.  Morgan Lohr in 32nd, Crystal Arroyo in 40th, and Jackie Shannon in 44th completed the scoring. 


MUSTANGS TAKE 2ND AT PEORIA INVITE!

On September 29th the Mustangs traveled to Peoria to compete in the Peoria Invite on historic Detweiler Park.  They came away with an impressive 2nd place finish out of 43 teams.  They were led by Ellie Palacios in 12th place.  Also medaling were Steph Johnson and Claire Naughton in 25th and 26th place.  Emily Schlebecker and Kelsey Loar were next in for the Mustangs in 52nd and 53rd place.  Hannah Smith in 148th and Marisa Perreault in 164th rounded out the scoring for the Mustangs.  This marks the highest finish ever for the Mustangs in this important meet.  Congratulations Mustangs! 


On Tuesday, September 18th, the Mustangs ran a pair of dual meets at Adler Park in Libertyville.  The Mustangs beat Libertyville 20-42, and State-ranked Lake Zurich 24-33.  They were led by Ellie Palacios and Steph Johnson, in 3rd and 4th, overall.  Emily Schlebecker and Claire Naughton took 6th and 7th, with Kelsey Loar in 9th.  Marisa Perreault and Hannah Smith completed the scoring in 11th and 13 place.

This past Saturday, September 15th, the Mustangs competed against 20 teams at the Warren Invite.  At the Varsity level the girls took 2nd, 9 points behind State-ranked Fremd.  The Mustangs were led by Ellie Palacios in 7th and Steph Johnson in 10th.  Also medaling were Claire Naughton in 16th, Emily Schlebecker in 20th, and Kelsey Loar in 25th.  Marisa Perreault and Hannah Smith in 39th and 40th rounded out the scoring for the varsity squad.

The F/S girl's team took 10th, led by sophomore Sophia Presutti in 13th.  Sophomore Lyli Chavez had a strong effort, taking 33rd.  Sophomores Ashley Parola and Katie Stanczykiewicz, and freshman Crystal Arroyo rounded out the top 5 for the F/S squad.

Senior Elise Ericksen took 3rd in the Open Race, followed by seniors Emily Zagula in 13th and Morgan Lohr in 34th, and junior Libby Pettett in 48th.

September 8th saw the Mustangs compete with 20+ teams at the Wauconda Invite.

The Varsity team brought home the trophy for 3rd place, and were led by seniors Steph Johnson and Claire Naughton, in 18th and 19th.  Sophomore Kelsey Loar and junior Emily Schlebecker also medaled, taking 24th and 28th respectively.  Senior Marisa Perreault, in 44th, completed the Mustangs' scoring.  Seniors Hannah Smith in 54th, and Emily Zagula in 78th, also had strong performances.

The Open race featured strong races by senior Elise Ericksen in 5th, and junior Libby Pettett, in 41st.

  
On September 4th the Mustangs beat Vernon Hills in a dual meet, 21-35.  They were led by senior Ellie Palacios, senior Claire Naughton, sophomore Kelsey Loar, and senior Steph Johnson, who placed 1st-4th.  Junior Emily Schlebecker completed the scoring for the Mustangs, finishing in 11th.



MUSTANGS ARE LAKE COUNTY CHAMPIONS!
On August 28th the Mustangs Girl's Cross Country team beat 16 other teams to take the team title at the Art Campbell Invitational, scoring 55 points to runner-up Vernon Hills 80.  The Mustangs were led by senior Steph Johnson in 6th, followed by senior Ellie Palacios in 7th, sophomor Kelsey Loar in 12th, and senior Claire Naughton in 13th.  All four girls won All-County honors.  Junior Emily Schlebecker came through with a great performance, taking 17th, and securing the victory.  Congratulations!
