FREE ADULT EDUCATION CLASSES AT MUNDELEIN HIGH SCHOOL

ABE - Adult Basic Education
Mondays and Wednesdays - 7 to 10 pm
This class is a preparation for the GED®. Instruction and counseling are available to anyone 17 years or older. Adult Basic Education (ABE) classes are tuition-free and funded through the Illinois Community College Board. Students may register in person during class times. Subjects: Reading/writing skills, day-to-day math, science, geography, and social studies. Instruction is in English.

GED® Preparation
Mondays and Wednesdays - 7 to 10 pm
Instruction and counseling are available for anyone 17 years or older who desires a thorough preparation for the General Educational Development (GED®) exam. Students will be tested for placement in reading, math, science, social studies, and writing on the first day of class. GED® classes are tuition-free and funded through the Illinois Community College Board. Students are required to drop from a high school program before registering. Students may register in person during class times. Instruction is in English.

High School Credit Recovery
Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays - 6:30 to 9:30 pm
This class is for credit recovery and culminates in the issuance of a high school diploma. Students use a computer program to earn credits for classes in which they are deficient. The courses are consistent with the Mundelein High School program and the Illinois State Standards for Learning. Students are required to spend 30 hours on the computer and to pass all tests with a minimum proficiency of 60% to earn one half credit. Students are required to drop from a high school program before registering. Students must be under 21 years of age.
