Homecoming Week is Sept. 18-23!

A week filled with activities is waiting for Mundelein High School students and staff as they prepare for Homecoming 2017. Several alumni classes will also be holding their reunions on Homecoming weekend.

Monday, Sept. 18 is Pajama Day. Tuesday, Sept. 19, Hawaiian Day will include Powder Puff games at 6 p.m. with freshmen vs. sophomores and at 7 p.m. for juniors vs. seniors. The Senior Girls Night will also take place on Tuesday from 8 p.m. to midnight.

Dress-up days for Wednesday and Thursday are Formal Wear Day and Red, White and Blue Day, respectively.

Friday is Scarlet/Gray Day. The traditional Homecoming Assembly will take place from 1 to 2 p.m. in the main gym. The Homecoming King, Queen and Court will be announced at the assembly.

The Homecoming Parade will kick off from the Mundelein Village Hall at 3:30 p.m. The route will take the parade west on Division Street, north on North California Avenue and west on Hawley Street to the high school. The sophomore football game will begin at 5 p.m. followed by the varsity Homecoming Game against Waukegan at 7:30 p.m.

The weekend will conclude with the Homecoming Dance on Saturday, Sept. 23 from 7 to 10 p.m. The dance theme is A Night Under the Stars. The Coronation will take place at 8 p.m.

The week’s festivities were planned by the MHS Student Leadership under the guidance of staff members Cynthia Henrichs, Patrick Gaughan and Julie Block.
