Parking Permit Process for 2017-2018


2017-2018 PARKING PERMIT REGISTRATION IS CLOSED AND NOT ACCEPTING NEW APPLICATIONS.
A second round registration MAY possibly be available on August 17 and ONLY from 8:00AM – 2:00PM. If parking spots are available a randomized draw will occur and winners will be posted after 4:00PM. Winners of the 2nd round will have until August 18 ONLY to produce completed paperwork and payment. Students PLEASE listen to daily morning announcements for any updates.



In order to be eligible to obtain a parking permit students must:
  • be a senior or junior
  • be in good standing with all outstanding fees paid and limited parking violations
  • have a valid driver’s license
  • have proof of insurance and current registration
  • have a vehicle
  • have been selected in the lottery system
  • have completed the permission slip
  • have paid for the permit 



2017-2018 Parking Permit Options

The non-refundable cost for a 2017-2018 parking permit is $200.00 for a full-year permit and $120 for a single semester permit. The following types of parking permits are available:
  • full-year permits
  • 1st semester-only permits
  • 2nd semester-only permits

Students are encouraged to apply for a FULL-YEAR parking permit if they're planning on parking on campus the entire year. All 1st semester-only permits will go back into the lottery at the end of the first semester. Students with 1st semester-only parking permits that want to park on campus for semester 2 are required to enter the lottery for 2nd semester permits. There is no guarantee that a 2nd semester-only permit will be available. The 2nd semester lottery takes place the week before the 1st semester is over.




A  4-step lottery system is used to determine which students receive parking permits:

Step 1 Register Online
2017-2018 Date(s): May 1-12, 2017 ONLY. (No early birds or late entries accepted)

After completing the online registration, students need to print a copy of their answers as proof of registering.


Step 2 Lottery Numbers Selected
2017-2018 Date(s): After final exams May 17, 2017
Using a randomizer (if needed for seniors), lottery numbers will be picked. Seniors get first priority; after all  good-standing senior requests have been honored, junior numbers will be picked. 


Step 3 Lottery Winners Posted
2017-2018 Date(s): After final exams May 18, 2017

Step 4 Claim Parking Permit
2017-2018 Date(s): 
August 8 & 9, 2017: 8:30am - noon;
August 10, 2017: 1:00pm - 3:00pm
Students have four days to claim their permit. Permits not picked up during this time will be forfeited.

In order to claim the parking permit students must currently have a vehicle and come to the Dean's Office with the following:
  • a valid driver’s license 
  • proof of insurance
  • current vehicle registration
  • permission slip
  • payment for the permit



Parking on Campus Rules

Parking on campus is a privilege. Students who drive vehicles on school property must comply with all state and local laws. The privilege of parking on campus may be suspended or revoked by the administration for the following, including but not limited to:
  1. Excessive absences (Excused and/or Unexcused)
  2. Out-of-school suspension(s)
  3. Reckless driving on school grounds
  4. Illegal parking
  5. Leaving campus without permission
  6. Driving students who do not have privileges off-campus during the school day
While parking on campus the following rules apply:
  1. Parking permit must be displayed in the front windshield.
  2. No loitering in vehicles will be permitted.
  3. No parking is allowed in any visitor area. (violators will be towed)
  4. No student parking in west, annex or north lots, including after school for athletic practices.
  5. Students must park within the lines and follow the designated traffic patterns.
  6. Students are expected to follow directions of school security.
  7. Unregistered vehicles or those illegally parked will be towed at the owner’s expense.
  8. While in the school parking lots, all vehicles may be subject to search by school officials.
  9. The Mundelein Police may ticket cars illegally parked (i.e. handicapped parking, fire lanes, etc.).
