The overall goal of After School Coalition is to provide activities for adolescents after school lets out that are safe and keep them from making poor decisions. We want to get the entire community involved in making Mundelein the best it can possibly be! A bigger goal is to prevent underage drinking in Mundelein. By giving students alternatives, we hope to stop this epidemic. We promote a drug and alcohol free environment, an eco-friendly community, and help the community through charitable events and deeds. We also help ease the transition from middle school to high school as that can be a very scary and stressful time. We want to make Mundelein a better, safer, and cleaner community.
Be sure and visit the student-maintained MASC website. The MASC website includes blog posts and photo albums of MASC events and service projects!
Monthly Meetings
Students will be pulled out of class once a month at 11:00 a.m. for After School Coalition meetings.
Police Station Meetings
We work closely with the Mundelein Police Department and have a meeting there once a month. This meeting usually takes place on a Thursday at the Police Station at 11:30 AM. For this meeting, students must fill out permission slip forms to miss a portion of fourth and fifth period. In order to be able to attend these monthly meetings, MASC members must keep their grades up and demonstrate their contribution to the group.
