Representatives of the Dart Foundation recently presented a gift of $5,000 to Manny Aldana, physics teacher and robotics advisor, for additional enhancements and financial support for the robotics program.

Last year, the Robotics Team took first place in the VEX Robotics Competition to qualify directly for state competition. The team also traveled to Google Headquarters in February to compete in a nationwide, invitation-only event. The team at that time was made up solely of freshmen.

The funds will be used in part to enhance the current Robotics work area and future travel.

The Dart Foundation is a private family foundation established by Dart Container Corporation founder William A. Dart and his wife Claire T. Dart. The Foundation supports projects that enhance education, especially in the areas of science, technology, engineering and math, and those that improve the quality of life in specific communities. Representatives of the Dart Foundation also participate in local giving.
