Dear Mustang Families,

I am proud to share that Mundelein High School has earned a Commendable designation on the 2026 Illinois School Report Card! This recognition reflects our students' hard work, our staff's dedication, and the support of our families and community.

The Illinois School Report Card provides an annual look at student achievement, growth, graduation rates, and other indicators of school success. This year's results highlight several areas where MHS continues to excel, including maintaining a high graduation rate (94.96%) and working to close achievement gaps.  Such examples include the hard work of our English Language Learners and students with IEPs, two subgroups that made progress in math and English proficiency this past year. Beyond academic achievement, MHS continues to provide meaningful opportunities for students to explore their interests and prepare for their futures, including six state-certified Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways. These accomplishments, along with several others, are worth celebrating, and they reinforce the great work happening in our classrooms every day.

Behind these results is an exceptional team of educators and support staff who are deeply committed to our students. Their dedication to engaging instruction, meaningful relationships, and ensuring students have the support and opportunities they need to succeed makes MHS a special place to learn and grow.

While we are proud of our accomplishments, we also recognize that there is always room to grow. This year, we will continue strengthening instructional practices, expanding opportunities for students, and building a school culture grounded in the values of the Mustang Way: respect, integrity, community, and compassion. Our goal is to ensure that every student experiences a school where they feel connected, challenged, supported, and prepared for what comes next.

I encourage you to explore our results and learn more about our school's performance on the Illinois School Report Card page, which outlines our growth this year: https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/. There is so much to be proud of at MHS, and our students and staff continue to give us new reasons to celebrate. I am grateful to be part of a community that believes in our students, invests in their success, and continually strives to make MHS an even better place to learn.

Sincerely,

Stevee Libert
