How Does it Work?: There are over 100 families listed on SignUp Genius, each having a unique family number. These are the families we personally know that are needing help for the holidays. For every family, the number of children, their age, and gender are mentioned.
Additionally, their top three wishes for the holiday celebration are listed. When you sign up for a family, you commit to buying gifts for the children listed for that family. After purchasing the gifts, you need to wrap them and attach the appropriate tag securely to the outside of the wrapped gift.
What Gift Do I Purchase?: Each child has provided their wish list. This is a place to start but it isn’t an exclusive list. Think of their list as a guideline for their interests; use your best judgment and sometimes it is based on availability. We suggest spending $50- $100 per child, but you get to decide based on what you are able to do. We also suggest including some stocking- stuffer items for younger kids.

The District 75 STEAM Foundation, extends a very heartfelt thank you to: Bill's Pizza, Buddyz, Chartwells, Domino's. Emil's, Hitz Pizza, Jimano's, Little Caesars, Lou Malnati's and Luigi's Ristorante for their pizza donation and participation in the sold-out 4th Annual Pizza Throwdown. Many attendees commented about how excited they were to see such a variety serving at the Throwdown and they were grateful for this opportunity to sample what Mundelein and nearby pizzerias have to offer. We are also grateful for both Mundelein Jewels, and the Mundelein Target for their donation of gift cards that allowed us to supply beverages, plates, and napkins. Finally, we were thrilled to have Tony Cannoli there serving dessert who generously donated 20% of the evening's proceeds to the Foundation.
The Foundation is a group dedicated to bringing STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) centric learning opportunities to the children of Mundelein. Our mission to cultivate every child’s creativity, technology skills, and career readiness can only be made possible through the partnership with local businesses such as yourself. We hope you will consider partnering with us again next year, as our mission is to bring as many hands-on learning experiences to the students of Mundelein as possible, and the Pizza Throwdown, as one of our only two annual fundraisers, helps support that goal.
