Mundelein High School, which recently named Alexandria Taylor as its new principal, has added a new associate principal to its team.
Michael Souza was selected by an interviewing committee of teachers, department chairs, and District personnel. The District 120 School Board approved the hiring and he started working on July 18.
Before coming to MHS, Souza served as assistant principal for operations at Glenbard East High School. Prior to that he served at Glenbard West High School as Dean of Students.
“We’re excited to have a highly qualified administrator in this role,” said MHS Principal Alexandria Taylor. “Mike brings experience, positivity, and a strong sense of community-building. He’ll be a great fit for our staff and students at MHS.”
Souza earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science from Illinois State University in Normal in 2005, his Master of Arts, Teaching and Instruction from Brandman University in Irvine, CA in 2012, and his Master of Arts, School Leadership from Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago in 2016.
