Mundelein Theatre will begin its season on Sept. 11 and 12 with An Evening of Student Directed One Acts.
“It is an extremely compelling night of theatre, with a wide variety of subject matter and styles within these plays,” said MHS Theatre Director Jonathan Meier.
The program will include nine short plays, all directed by Mundelein High School seniors. In total, about 60 MHS students are involved either onstage or backstage. The student directors are Stephanie Aquino, Grace DeMilio, Max Dunlap, Marissa St. Clair, Julia Myrant, Zoë Van Krey, Taylor Gates, Leandro Ocampo, and Anastasija Rahmanova.
“Watching these seniors helm their own shows is always very gratifying,” Meier said. “They have all worked very hard over their theatre careers to earn the right to direct, and this is their chance to show what they have learned and put their stamp on their own shows.”
The plays will be presented on Monday, September 11, and Tuesday, September 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the MHS Auditorium. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students and seniors. Seating is general admission and tickets go on sale thirty minutes prior to each performance (cash or check only). For further information, go to www.mundeleintheatre.org.
