The Mundelein Mustangs Football program will host the 2018 Mustang Golf Scramble on Tuesday, June 12, with a 1 p.m. tee off at Steeple Chase Golf Club. This is a fundraising event for the football program with a portion of the proceeds going to the Positive Coaching Alliance of the Greater Chicago Area.
“We’re excited about making The Mustang Golf Outing an annual, marquee event. It will be a great time, and something that our school and community look forward to each year,” said Larry Calhoun, varsity football head coach. “The response so far has been outstanding, but there are still lots of opportunities to get involved as a participant or a sponsor.”
Highlights of the Golf Scramble include 18 holes with a GPS Cart, on-course contests [hole in one wins a 2018 Mustang convertible or two tickets to Super Bowl LIII]; an on-site dinner, awards, raffle items and a silent auction. Sponsorships are available.
The registration fees are $140 per player; $500 per foursome; and $35 for dinner only. Those who reserve their spots before May 1 will pay $125 per player and $450 per foursome.
Registration is now open. For complete details and to register online, visit the 2018 Mustang Golf Scramble website.
“This year, the proceeds from the Mustang golf outing will be used to defer costs for underprivileged players, purchase new equipment to help ensure our student-athletes have the best and safest equipment available, offset the costs of summer camps and other opportunities for our athletes to participate in area and college-hosted events, provide team gear and help meet athletes’ nutritional needs, and generally enrich the experience for our Mustang football players,” Calhoun explained. “Finally, a portion of the proceeds will go to help support the Chicago Area Positive Coaching Alliance [PCA]. As a partner with PCA, the mission is to transform the culture of high school and youth sports so that all athletes can have a positive, character-building experience,” he concluded.
