The 2017-18 Mustang newspaper staff received the International First Place Award in the 2018 Quill and Scroll News Media Evaluation contest.
The award is presented to a publication that “has received at least one ‘Superior’ and at least one ‘Excellent’ rating in the four or five areas for evaluation, with the other areas rated ‘Good.’”
“I see all the raw material for a fine newsmagazine here,” a judge wrote in his feedback to the staff. “The writers have obvious command of their language. Photographers can produce great images. The pages are organized. You have the foundation of a solid publication here.”
