    MHS to honor seven distinguished alumni

    The public is invited to attend the Mundelein High School 2021 Distinguished Alumni Awards Luncheon honoring seven MHS graduates. The event will take place at noon on Saturday, September 25, at the West District Office, 1500 Hawley Street (adjacent to the high school campus). The cost of the event is $12 per person. The deadline for registration is Monday, September 20. Register by visiting this website. The seven honorees range from the MHS Class of 1967 to the MHS Class of 2006.

    Jewel donates PPE to schools

    About a week before the new school year began in Mundelein, Jewel-Osco made a significant donation of face masks and hand sanitizer to School Districts 75 and 120. The retailer presented school officials with 3,400 face masks and 1,100 bottles of hand sanitizer. The donation was facilitated by Dr. Yara Lucht, the Osco Pharmacy Manager who also happens to be a Mundelein resident and District 75 parent. The timing was good because Illinois Gov.     A gift to Mundelein High School from its graduating senior class is a genuine masterpiece. The class of 2021 is donating a 20’ x 15’ mural on an interior wall designed by one of its own members.     Jasmine Moreno, an MHS 2021 AVID program graduate, just received news that she is a Golden Apple Scholar. The Golden Apple Scholars of Illinois Program encourages academically talented Illinois students, especially minority students, to pursue teaching careers, especially at high-need, hard-to-staff schools by providing tuition assistance (tuition, fees and room and board or commuter allowance) at one of the participating colleges.
