Public Act 101-180 (effective 6/01/20) requires that, beginning with the 2020-2021 school year, public high school students must complete the FAFSA or, as eligible, the Alternative Application for Illinois Financial Aid, as a prerequisite to receiving a high school diploma.

Senior earns full ride scholarship to NIU

Mundelein High School senior and AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) student Angelica Hernandez, has been awarded and accepted the Presidential Scholarship at Northern Illinois University (NIU). It is a full ride scholarship and she plans to study nursing. “Our AVID family is very proud of her,” said MHS AVID and English instructor Kristen Behrens. MHS to host virtual Cultural Fair

Mundelein High School will host its third annual Cultural Fair Friday, February 26 via ZOOM. Each year students present information, displays and graphics about a number of countries and their cultures. Countries being represented by students this year include Japan, Armenia, Solomon Islands, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, Korea, The Philippines and Poland. Alum takes first place in national film competition

Last week the National Academy of Arts and Sciences Foundation (NATAS), (the same group that presents Emmys each year to professionals in the television and film industry) presented awards from a variety of categories for high school student work submitted across the nation. Byte Club takes first in state competition

On Saturday, February 13, a few members of the Mundelein High School Byte Club participated in a national coding competition sponsored by the prestigious Colorado School of Mines. One team made up of Kajal Patel, Steffen Brown, and Peter Zakariya, won first in the state of Illinois. The competition included high school students from all over America, who were given 15 math and logic problems that had to be solved entirely with code in any language of their choice.
