    Seven Mundelein High School Band Program students auditioned and were selected to the Illinois Music Education Association (ILMEA) District VII Bands and Jazz Bands this fall. This honor is usually accompanied by a district festival in November where the top music students from more than 50 high schools in the North and Northwest Suburbs of Chicago come together to make music.     Mundelein High School sophomore Jasmyne Ouimet has been invited to participate in a two-year STEM program, Northwestern Medicine Discovery Program, a selective program that caps at 20 Lake County high school student members.     Veterans Day event to be held remotely this year

    Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Mundelein High School will not hold a public Veterans Day ceremony this year. For the past few years, MHS has hosted an event that draws hundreds of area veterans and their families for a formal ceremony which also included breakfast and lunch for the honorees. Patriotic songs played by MHS bands and sung by the choirs added to the solemnity of the event.     BSU to host 5K Run/Walk

    Mundelein High School’s Black Student Union (BSU) in support of Strides for Peace will host a 5K run/walk on Sunday, October 18 from 9 a.m. to noon. The course for the run will start at the MHS athletic field and proceed through nearby Mundelein neighborhoods similar to the Turkey Trot held on Thanksgiving.     Live theatre has been hard to come by these past months but the students of Mundelein Theatre decided that it was time to get back on the stage and do what they love to do… create theatre.     Parent/Teacher Conferences to be held remotely

    Mundelein High School will hold Parent-Teacher Conferences on Thursday, Oct. 22 and Friday, Oct. 23 with both daytime and evening hours. The hours for Oct. 22 are from 4 to 8 p.m. and Oct. 23 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. and 12 noon to 2:30 p.m. Each conference will last 10 minutes.     Congrats to long-time MHS staff member, Frank Giannamore! Frank Giannamore, long-time staff member at MHS, has been inducted into the Lake County Sports Hall of Fame. He has previously inducted into the Illinois Wrestling Coaches and Officials Association and Illinois High School Football Coaches Hall of Fame, both in 2005.
