    BSU to host 5K Run/Walk

    Mundelein High School’s Black Student Union (BSU) in support of Strides for Peace will host a 5K run/walk on Sunday, October 18 from 9 a.m. to noon. The course for the run will start at the MHS athletic field and proceed through nearby Mundelein neighborhoods similar to the Turkey Trot held on Thanksgiving.     Live theatre has been hard to come by these past months but the students of Mundelein Theatre decided that it was time to get back on the stage and do what they love to do… create theatre.     Parent/Teacher Conferences to be held remotely

    Mundelein High School will hold Parent-Teacher Conferences on Thursday, Oct. 22 and Friday, Oct. 23 with both daytime and evening hours. The hours for Oct. 22 are from 4 to 8 p.m. and Oct. 23 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. and 12 noon to 2:30 p.m. Each conference will last 10 minutes.     Mundelein High School will formally induct 61 students into the National Honor Society (NHS) in a ceremony to be held Monday, Oct. 5 through a remote Webinar slated to begin at 7 p.m. Links to join the webinar are located at the end of this news release.     Although the 2020-2021 school year looks very different from a “normal” school year, the Mundelein High School Media Center staff are offering pick-up locations throughout the Mundelein area to ensure that all students have access to books.     Congrats to long-time MHS staff member, Frank Giannamore! Frank Giannamore, long-time staff member at MHS, has been inducted into the Lake County Sports Hall of Fame. He has previously inducted into the Illinois Wrestling Coaches and Officials Association and Illinois High School Football Coaches Hall of Fame, both in 2005.     The staff of the Mundelein High School student-produced school newspaper, The Mustang, has received an International First Place Award from the 2020 Quill & Scroll News Media Evaluation.     Mundelein High School will host its traditional Open House event in a not-so-traditional way this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
