    Mundelein High School sophomore, Dempsey Young, has been selected as a semifinalist in a Fatherhood Essay Contest sponsored by the Illinois Fatherhood Initiative (IFI). One hundred and thirty semifinalists were chosen from the more than 2,700 received. Her essay was in the top five percent of entries and she is now in the running to be a finalist.     FBLA earns awards at Virtual State Conference

    Mundelein High School’s chapter of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) competed at the 2020 Illinois State Conference. The competition was modified this year so that all competitors could virtually compete, as well as attend the opening and closing sessions. The conference was presided over by senior Sofia Feijoo as State Secretary.     Yearbook, newspaper staffs score big in state competition

    Mundelein High School’s student publications earned high marks in the Illinois Journalism Education Association’s (IJEA) yearbook and newspaper competitions.     MHS Sophomore Emily Navarette has earned a place at the Grainger Virtual Summer Camp scheduled to take place at the University of Illinois-Urbana/Champaign. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the camp will take place remotely, rather than in person. Funds to support Patel’s participation were provided by the MHS Foundation’s STEM-X Scholarship and also by Lawrence Maligaya, a 2005 graduate from MHS.     Mundelein High School’s College Counselor, Andrea Rusk, has been recognized by the Illinois Association for College Admission Counseling (IACAC) for the 2020 James A. Alexander Newcomer Award.
