Library provides books for students during the pandemic

Although the 2020-2021 school year looks very different from a “normal” school year, the Mundelein High School Media Center staff are offering pick-up locations throughout the Mundelein area to ensure that all students have access to books. Congrats to long-time MHS staff member, Frank Giannamore! Frank Giannamore, long-time staff member at MHS, has been inducted into the Lake County Sports Hall of Fame. He has previously inducted into the Illinois Wrestling Coaches and Officials Association and Illinois High School Football Coaches Hall of Fame, both in 2005. Newspaper staff earns coveted award from Quill and Scroll

The staff of the Mundelein High School student-produced school newspaper, The Mustang, has received an International First Place Award from the 2020 Quill & Scroll News Media Evaluation. Despite ending the year in remote learning and producing two newspaper issues during the COVID-19 pandemic, the staff earned superior ratings in four of the five evaluation categories for general practices, coverage, writing & editing and digital media. Virtual Open House set for Sept. 9

Mundelein High School will host its traditional Open House event in a not-so-traditional way this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Open House will take place online on Wednesday, Sept. 9 from 7 to 8:55 p.m. The evening will include a Parent Canvas presentation from 6:30 to 6:55 p.m. Parents will then follow their students’ Semester 1 schedule between 7 p.m. and 8:55 p.m. They may also visit the MHS Virtual College and Career Resource Center during that same time period. Community holds School Supply Distribution for area families

The Mundelein community held a School Supplies Distribution event for area families in need of school supplies to start the new school year. One hundred fifty bags of supplies were distributed to students who attend districts 75, 76 and 120. The community collected supplies and, in addition, the Mundelein Citizens’ Police Academy Alumni Association, the Mundelein Latino Police Academy Alumni Association and the Mundelein Police Department partnered together and made a $750 donation to the drive.

MHS sets College Planning Night for Seniors
