    Isle of Martinique students visit MHS to meet their pen pals

    Twenty-one students from the Isle of Martinique visited Mundelein High School Jan. 23 to meet MHS students with whom they have been corresponding as pen pals. The event was coordinated by Marty Ambrey, French instructor at MHS. The day’s activities included both formal and informal opportunities for the visiting students to spend time with their MHS counterparts.     Cultural Fair at MHS includes evening events for area residents

    Mundelein High School will hold a Cultural Fair at the high school Feb. 7 from 7:45 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.. During the day, more than 16 booths will be in place to represent the diverse culture and identities at MHS. An added feature this year will include student-led evening of activities. It will open to the public at 4 p.m. and at 5 p.m. a cultural buffet will open in the cafeteria. Tickets will be available for purchase at the event at a cost of 50 cen

    Mundelein High School’s Jazz Ensemble was recently recognized as the Honor Band in the large high school big band division at the 30th Annual Purdue Jazz Festival held earlier this month. In addition, Garrett Munz, senior alto saxophonist at MHS, was recognized as Best Soloist in the same class.     Mundelein High School junior, Ilya Vynnyk, recently traveled to Iowa to take part in the Mikva Challenge, created by Ab Mikva, a high ranking government official who served in all three branches of government.
