Concert Bands to present free December Concert

Mundelein High School bands will host a free concert Tuesday, Dec. 10 at 7 p.m. in the MHS Auditorium. The event will feature the four concert bands including the Honors Wind Ensemble, Honors Symphonic Winds, Symphonic Band and Concert Band. Mundelein High School Principal Anthony Kroll has announced that 69 students from the MHS graduating class of 2020 have been recognized as Illinois State Scholars. Volunteer to work with Breakfast With Santa event

VOLUNTEER AT BREAKFAST WITH SANTA! Looking to volunteer? Help with the Breakfast with Santa event at the Foglia YMCA in Lake Zurich on Sunday, Dec. 8. Would like to have five volunteers from each area school. Show Choirs to host Spotlight Event

The Mundelein High School show choirs will perform as part of their Spotlight Event to take place Friday, Dec. 6 beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the MHS Cafeteria. Dinner will be provided by Olive Garden Restaurant. The Concert, featuring the MHS show choirs Sound, Lights and SoundFX, will begin in the auditorium at 7:30 p.m. This is the largest fundraiser for the music groups each year. The Mundelein STAND-UP Task Force is a community coalition that prevents teen drug use. We work with schools in Mundelein, and other partners in town such as the Village of Mundelein, police and fire departments, businesses, churches, park district, health care providers, youth organizations and students and parents, to help students make healthy choices and achieve their goals in life.

Mundelein STAND-UP will host three community events on Thursday, Dec. 12. They begin with a meeting from 9 to 10 am at the Mundelein Police Department focusing on how businesses can support teens in their decision to avoid alcohol, marijuana and vaping. A group of Mundelein High School graduates, known as MHS College Ambassadors, will return to MHS Tuesday, Nov. 26 for the “Mustang Round-Up,” where they meet with current students to discuss preparation for college life.
