Student Variety Show set for Thursday, Nov. 7

“A Night At the Safari” student talent show will be held on Thursday, Nov. 7, at 7 pm in the MHS Auditorium. Tickets are $3 per person admission at the door. All proceeds will go to Ronald McDonald House charities. Free Coat Giveaway in Lake Zurich November 16, 2019

Operation Warm/ Lake Zurich Coats for Kids will provide brand new winter coats to children living in need. The 7th annual coat giveaway at The Chapel in Lake Zurich will take place on Saturday, November 16, 2019, from 12 noon until 2 pm. There will be up to 1,000 coats available for children between the ages of 2 and 18 on a first come, first served basis. New Faces to take the spotlight on Mundelein Theatre stage

The future of Mundelein Theatre will be on display on the Mundelein High School stage at the beginning of November. The End of the World (With Prom to Follow), by Sean Abley, will be presented as the school’s New Faces Production. The cast is made up of 29 freshmen and sophomores, as well as juniors and seniors who have never appeared on the MHS main stage. MHS to host free VEX Robotics competition; public invited

Mundelein High School will host the VEX Robotics Competition in Illinois on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the high school. This free event is open to the public. During the competition, robots will go against other robots, placing cubes in goals and towers to score points for their alliance while descoring the opposing alliance. MHS jazz bands host Lake Zurich Jazz Ensemble and professional jazz vocalist

Mundelein High School’s Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Orchestra will host an evening of jazz music along with the Jazz Ensemble from Lake Zurich High School and jazz vocalist Kim Nazarian. The free concert is set for 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23 in the MHS Auditorium. Nazarian is a vocalist, educator and lyricist. NHS to induct 55 new members Oct. 22

Mundelein High School’s chapter of the National Honor Society (NHS) will induct 55 new members Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. in the MHS Auditorium. The new inductees were chosen by a faculty selection committee based on the four principles of NHS, namely character, scholarship, leadership and service. Middle School, High School choirs join for shared concert

Vocal music will be in the air on Monday, October 21 as groups from the high school will join with singers from West Oak, Fremont and Sandburg middle schools in a free concert at 7 p.m. in the MHS Auditorium. The high school groups performing will include the Chorale, Master Singers, Sound, Lights, and SoundFX. Parent/Teacher Conferences Oct. 24/25 by appointment only

Mundelein High School will hold parent-teacher conferences over two days, Thursday, Oct. 24 and Friday, Oct. 25. Conferences will be by appointment only with no walk-in appointments available. On Oct. 24, 10-minute conferences will be available from 1:30 to 3 p.m. and from 4 to 7 p.m. Students will be dismissed from school at 11:25 a.m. that day. The Oct. 25 appointments will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. and again from noon to 2 p.m. Conferences may be scheduled online beginning Tuesday, Oct.
