    Students and advisors of the Mundelein High School chapter of Future Business Leaders of America [FBLA] traveled to and competed at the State Leadership Conference in Springfield on April 6 and 7. More than 30 members competed, either at the conference or beforehand, in various events that tested their business leadership skills.     Boys Lacrosse to honor military; pair with club to collect donations

    Mundelein High School’s Boys Lacrosse team will host a Military Tribute Game Saturday, April 13 at 3 p.m. on the home turf. Fifteen members of the military will be honored before the game and they have also partnered with MHS Club, Helping Heroes of America, to collect items to donate to military troops overseas. Items requested by the military include shampoo, razors, conditioner, sunflower seeds, body wash, bug repellent, sun screen, travel size toiletries, playing cards, non-perishable food​

    Club preparing Care Packages for military; donations requested

    Mundelein High School’s Helping Heroes of America Club is following up on last year’s successful donation drive with a second one this year. The club will accept donations for active duty troops stationed primarily in Afghanistan and Iraq. “Last year the community was amazing and donated tons of items which made it possible to pack 33 boxes,” said club advisor, Nicole Malham. “We’re hoping to pack even more this year.” Donations will be accepted through Thursday, April 25.     MHS Choral Music news Concert April 11 The MHS Honors Master Singers and Honors Concert Choir will perform in a free concert Thursday, April 11 at 7 p.m. at St. Mary of the Annunciation Church.     Mustang Triathlon May 5; April 27 early registration deadline

    The Mundelein High School Triathlon Club will host its annual Mustang Triathlon Sunday, May 5 beginning at 7:30 a.m. There is a 7 a.m. check-in and same-day registration on the outdoor track. Cost is $10 for MHS students and staff, payable at the school bookstore and $15 for community residents payable through RevTrak on the school’s website.     Two Mundelein High School freshmen earned cash prizes of $250 each as winners in the contest sponsored by the Adlai Stevenson Center on Democracy. The essay was an opinion piece, 1,000 words or less about anything that affects public policy.     Two seniors earn Consumers Cooperative scholarships

    Consumers Cooperative Association, sponsor of Consumers Credit Union, announced the winners of 16, $2,000 academic scholarships at the joint annual meeting of the two organizations.     Golf Outing to support football program; early sign-up discounts

    Mundelein High School’s Red Zone Club is sponsoring the Second Annual Mustang Golf Scramble to take place at Steeple Chase Golf Club June 20. This is a fundraising event for the MHS football program and new varsity head coach, Vince DeFrancesco, will be on hand to meet the participants. Individual Golfer/Early Bird cost is $125 which increases to $140 May 1. For foursomes the Early Bird cost is $450 which will increase to $500 on May 1.     From the MHS Band Directors: Thank you to the 138 students and chaperones on a very successful trip to New Orleans, Louisiana! The students were responsible and well-behaved and represented Mundelein High School with great pride. The performances at Jackson Square, the Natchez Steam Boat and clinic at Tulane University were greeted with support and appreciation. It really is a great day to be a Mustang!​
