Night of Percussion set for April 30

The fifth annual Mundelein Night of Percussion will take place on Monday, April 30 at 7 p.m. in the Mundelein Auditorium. Admission is free.

Orchesis Clinic and Recital set for Sunday, May 6

The Mundelein High School Orchesis Club will hold an Orchesis Kids Clinic Sunday, May 6 from 1 to 2:30 pm at the high school. The Clinic is open to all pre-school through eighth grade boys and girls interested in dance.

MHS sophomore named semi-finalist in White Sox Illinois Fatherhood Initiative

Mundelein High School sophomore Izak Sosa has been named a semi-finalist in the Illinois Fatherhood Initiative/Chicago White Sox Illinois Fatherhood Essay Contest.

MHS senior heading for the US Naval Academy

Mundelein High School senior, Eubin Kim, has been accepted into the US Naval Academy which provides for all his tuition and housing. It’s been something he has been looking forward to for a while.

Students prepare care packages for US troops

Members of the Helping Heroes of America Club spent part of April 19 preparing 34 care packages for US troops. More than 20 students worked to sort the materials, pack boxes and write letters to the troops.

All-Area Art Show at MHS April 26, 27; 10 schools featured

For the third year, the Mundelein High School Art Department will host the Mundelein All-Area Art Show in the main gym Thursday, April 26 and Friday, April 27. A formal reception will take place April 26 from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

16 MHS athletes sign to play college sports next year

Sixteen Mundelein High School students were recently honored at a signing ceremony where they inked their intent to continue their athletic careers at the college/university level.

FBLA students qualify for national competition

Members of the MHS chapter of Future Business Leaders of America [FBLA] recently competed at the State Leadership Conference in Springfield, IL. Several students placed high enough to continue on to the National Leadership Conference to be held in Baltimore, MD. this summer.

Four juniors selected for Illinois Boys, Girls State

Four Mundelein High School juniors were recently selected to represent their school at the summer Boys and Girls State “conventions” usually held on university campuses and sponsored by the American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary.

Jonathan Martin awarded prestigious Chick Evans scholarship

Mundelein High School Senior, Jonathan Martin, was recently notified that he is a recipient of a prestigious Chick Evans scholarship which pays full tuition and housing for four years of college/university study. Martin will begin his college career at Miami University of Ohio in the fall.
