Three Mundelein High School seniors have been honored by the Lake County Tech Campus as Students of the Year in their respective programs. Autumn Brown, Ron Echtenacher and Ein French all received the honor and will be recognized at the Student Recognition Night on Thursday, May 7.

MHS hosts international students

MHS hosted a group of 25 students from Skals Efterskole Boarding School in Viborg, Denmark on April 15 as part of the school’s global exchange program. The premier English boarding school has an international curriculum which includes experiences in Vietnam, Nepal, the United States, and Ireland. During their visit, the students attended a variety of classes and presented to a group of MHS students about their school and life in Denmark.

MHS Students Earn Top-10 Honors at FBLA State Conference

Mundelein High School's chapter of Future Business Leaders of America had a standout performance at the annual FBLA State Leadership Conference in Springfield in April, with 27 students placing among the top 10 finishers in their respective events. The Mundelein chapter competed alongside more than 65 chapters from across Illinois in more than 75 competitive events spanning business topics, computer skills, interview events, and presentation categories.

MHS senior receives Evans Scholarship

Mundelein High School senior Andrew Weaver has earned the prestigious Chick Evans Scholarship, a full tuition and housing, four-year college scholarship for golf caddies. Weaver, who plans to study advertising at the University of Illinois, was nominated for the award by the Ivanhoe Country Club where he has caddied for the past four years.

Timing, strategy behind MHS referendum bonds saves taxpayers more than $7 million

Due to good timing and a favorable interest rate, the building bonds issued as part of the Mundelein High School Facilities Improvement referendum will save District 120 taxpayers more than $7 million over the life of the bond repayments. The project was approved by taxpayers in a referendum in November 2024. The sale of bonds was approved by the District 120 School Board on Jan. 13, meaning taxpayers will notice the increase on their property tax bills starting in May.

MHS senior named National Merit Scholarship Finalist

Mundelein High School senior Paige Prochnow has been named a finalist in the prestigious National Merit Scholarship Program. Later this spring, the National Merit Scholarship Corporation will select some 6,870 Merit Scholarship winners from the group of finalists. Prochnow was named one of more than 16,000 National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists last September, representing less than 1 percent of high school seniors in the U.S.
