Three Mundelein High School seniors have been honored by the Lake County Tech Campus as Students of the Year in their respective programs.

Autumn Brown, Ron Echtenacher and Ein French all received the honor and will be recognized at the Student Recognition Night on Thursday, May 7.

Brown was selected as a Student of the Year in the Emergency Medical Service I program. She also earned National Technical Honor Society status, was named a Tech Campus Student of the Year (overall) finalist and named Illinois Principal Association Student of the Year. Brown plans on attending the College of Lake County to study nursing.

“I really enjoyed all the hands-on opportunities Tech Campus provided to help get me experience in the medical field,” she said.

Echtenacher was named Tech Campus Student of the Year in the Welding/Fabrication I program. He plans to attend Western Welding Academy in Gillette, Wyoming to study structural welding and pipe welding.

“I love how Tech Campus is a place where I can do what I enjoy doing without restriction and I can really work hard to get better,” Echtenacher said.

French was named Tech Campus Student of the Year in the Cosmetology I program and was also nominated for the overall Tech Campus Student of the Year. French plans on attending the CLC Tech Campus Adult Cosmetology Program. French wants to work as a hair stylist with the goal of getting Redken-certified.

I loved getting to meet different students from different schools at Tech Campus. It was a fresh start, but with people who shared my goals of working in the field of cosmetology,” French said.
